Privacy Policy

Overview

schirleMix is a color mixing recipe app for oil painters. We collect the minimum data needed to provide the service. We do not sell your data, we do not run ads, and we do not track you across apps or websites.

What We Collect

Account information

When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive and store your email address and authentication provider (Google or Apple). This is used to identify your account, manage your credit balance, and process purchases.

Credit balance

We store your AI credit balance on our server. Credits are consumed when you use AI-powered features (AI recipes, palette advisor, AI mentor). Your balance is tied to your account.

Desktop license information

If you purchase a desktop license, we store your license key, email address, and a machine identifier (a hash derived from your computer's hardware) to enforce the per-machine activation limit.

AI feature requests

When you use AI-powered features, we send the target color, palette data (paint names, pigments, hex values), and current recipe to our server, which forwards the request to Anthropic's Claude API. If you submit a painting for critique, the image is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for analysis. We do not store these images, requests, or responses on our server — they are forwarded to Anthropic and discarded. Payment information

Payments are processed by Apple (App Store), Google (Play Store), or Stripe (desktop). We never see or store your credit card number or payment details. We receive only a transaction identifier to credit your account.

What We Do Not Collect

  • We do not collect or store your images or photos. The only exception is painting critique: if you submit an image for critique, it is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for analysis and immediately discarded by our server.
  • We do not collect your custom palettes, saved notes, or app preferences.
  • We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising SDKs.
  • We do not collect device location data.

Palettes, notes, and preferences are stored locally on your device and never leave it. Reference images stay on your device unless you choose to submit one for painting critique.

Where Data Is Stored

Server-side data (account info, credit balance, session tokens, license keys) is stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure (Workers KV and Durable Objects). Cloudflare operates data centers globally. AI requests are processed by Anthropic's Claude API.

Data Retention

Account data is retained as long as your account is active. Session tokens expire automatically. If you delete your account, all server-side data (email, credit balance, sessions) is permanently erased within 7 days.

Account Deletion

You can request account deletion at any time by emailing schirlemix@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my schirleMix account" and the email address you used to sign in. We will delete all server-side data within 7 days.

To remove locally stored data (images, palettes, notes), uninstall the app or clear app data in your device settings.

Third-Party Services

Children

schirleMix is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
